Notabag’s Sustainability Journey
To honor Earth Day 2021, we would like to share our sustainability journey with you.
Notabag was born in a Frankfurt apartment in 2012.
Back then, sustainability meant reducing the use of plastic bags. But the world’s evolved a whole lot since then, and so has Notabag. It’s time for an update.
Over the years, we’ve worked on a few key topics.
- The sustainability of our business: we want to ensure ethical practices while providing an affordable product. That’s why our entire production takes place in two small, family-run factories in Guangdong province, China. The people sewing Notabags are paid a living wage for fair working hours in good working conditions. Many of them have been working with us for years. Their knowledge and craftsmanship is precious to us, and we keep in touch on an almost daily basis.
- Waste and material: our fabric has always been produced exclusively for us and to high quality standards. We’ve been working on updating our materials and can’t wait to share our new recycled and recyclable fabric with you later this year.
- Giving back: we believe that sustainability is also about creating virtuous circles, and giving back is part of that. This came to life through our contribution to PEC last year. We are working on a new commitment for this year. We look forward to announcing it soon.
By choosing sustainable products, you, our customers, are contributing to a more sustainable world. And we care that you care, so we promise to keep it real and provide you with more transparency about our products and production process.
If you have any questions for us about our practices please reach out to us at info@notabag.com.
Thank you for your support throughout our evolving journey!
